Flowers appear in many of Gwyn's compositions. Gwyn, like her mother Becky, was a champion gardener for most of her life. She specialized in hybridizing daylillies and also collected old roses from abandoned house sites. These plants were often direct descendents of the English roses early settlers brought to the Southeast.
