October 10, 1926: Cliff

"I hear from Becky that you've both been Rocky-Laning like anything. Only wait til we get there!"*

*Gwyn's reference to "Rocky-Laning" is to Rocky Lane Farm near Henley-on-Thames, newly bought and renamed by Becky and Cliff. The Woodhouses would remain in the house until the end of their time in England. At Rocky Lane, over more than two decades, Becky would plan and develop her magnificent garden, a feat and obsession that would become Gwyn's touchstone.
